Empowering change for a brighter tomorrow
Roof Rehabilitation
CSS Help 500 will restore secure shelter and livelihoods for at least 500 vulnerable Jamaicans affected by Hurricane Melissa; focusing on economically disadvantaged single parents, elderly and disabled people.
Water Storage Systems
CSS Help 500 will work to ensure families have access to clean water for consumption, cooking, and hygiene. Water storage and rain harvesting systems will be installed and community members will be trained to maintain systems designed to withstand droughts, floods, and other climate - related disruptions, helping communities stay healthy and resilient.
Solar Power Support
CSS Help 500 will provide basic solar energy solutions to restore light, connectivity, and comfort to affected households. These systems will provide power for lighting, device charging, and operating small appliances, reducing reliance on damaged sections of the grid, and helping families regain stability after Hurricane Melissa.
Empowerment & Sustainability
CSS Help 500 goes beyond immediate recovery, to foster lasting empowerment. Volunteers will receive training and certification, while children in beneficiary households will gain virtual learning support and digital devices. Families will also benefit from tailored business start-up kits and six months of mentorship, equipping them to rebuild livelihoods and achieve long-term self-reliance.
